SLAVF Culminates Phase 2 of the Workshop on ‘Skills Development & Innovations’

Certificates were awarded to 31 Other Ranks of the Army who followed the Phase 2 of the workshop on ‘Skills Development & Innovations', held at the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) Headquarters on Tuesday (25) during a simple ceremony.

The Course, organized on a conceptual notion of Major General Senarath Yapa, Commandant, SLAVF began on 20 September aims at realizing the organizational objectives, designed for the years to come. The workshop serves as an inspirational strive for innovations through recycling and the required knowledge on skills development and lasted for 21 days with practical sessions that covered streams of innovation through Team Work, Waste Management, Spiritual Meditation, Welding, Painting, and Carpentry.

The Commandant SLAVF as the Chief Guest delivered closing remarks before award of certificates of participation. Major General Thusitha Silva, Deputy Commandant, SLAVF also joined the distribution of those certificates.

Afterwards, the recipients of certificates showcased innovative products, made by them such as metal beds, lecterns, wheelbarrows, metal television stands, stoves, air compressors, dressing tables, lamp sheds, dustbins, wooden chairs, etc.

The principal Staff Officer, Inspector of Training, Brigadier Administration, Brigadier Logistics, Colonel Training and Colonel Engineering, Officers, and Other Ranks of the SLAVF were present at the awarding ceremony.
