With a view to facilitating and reinforcing the smooth drive of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS), the recently-appointed Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP, the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) made a formal visit to the Volunteer Force Training School at Diyatalawa on Monday (28 August).
The Commandant - SLAVF was warmly received by Colonel J.A.J Jayaratne KSP, the Commandant - VFTS on his arrival and a Guard Turnout saluted him in accordance with the customary military formalities. The occasion followed a planting of a sapling to mark his visit to the training school.
A supportive discussion presided by the Commandant - SLAVF took place then, focused on administration and training of the school with a comprehensive narration made by the Commandant-VFTS.
Afterwards, the Commandant presented disciplines of studies in relation to Administrative Assistance Course and the Functional English Course for Other Ranks.
The Commandant awarded certificates of National Vocational Qualification Level 3 & 4 to the successful candidates at the same occasion.
An inspirational troop address was then delivered by the visiting Commandant. Senior Officers, Officers and Staff at the Training School and the SLAVF HQ participated in the day’s programme.
