The recently-appointed Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc on 27 June 2023 had a coordination conference together with volunteer Battalion Commanding Officers at the SLAVF HQ in Kosgama.
During the discussion, the SLAVF Commandant educated the Commanding Officers as regards the importance of a victorious Army through professionalism, credibility and respect. Further, he focused on a wide range of concerns, such as the absence without leave, drug addiction, accidents, sex-abuse, instances of suicide, logistics and administration facilities, impact of security of social/digital media and their use by Officers and Other Ranks, etc.
Major General M.T.K.R Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force also attended the discussion and explored possibilities for implementation of required modalities.
The occasion was attended by the SLAVF Principal Staff Officer, Senior Officers and Officers. The Commanding Officers who represented the Security Force Headquarters -West attended the occasion physically while the Commanding Officers of the other Volunteer Battalions elsewhere were joined virtually.
