SLAVF Appreciates Integrity of Soldier by Promoting Him to Next Rank

Appreciative of the honesty, morality and loyalty shown by Lance Corporal R.K.D.S Deerasinghe of 5 (v) Gajaba Regiment (GR) who promptly returned a sum of Rs. 70,400/= in cash, left behind in the ATM machine of the People's Bank at Horowpothana to the owner on 11 January, the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) HQ, following an initiative of its Commandant lauded his act by promoting him to the next rank and presenting an appreciative certificate to him on Wednesday (8).

Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe, Commandant, SLAVF after inviting the 'Good Samaritan' to his office praised him for his integrity and presented the ‘Pranama Prasada Upahara’ appreciative certificate in the presence of several Officers and Other Ranks. He has also been promoted to the next rank of Corporal on the recommendation of the SLAVF Commandant.

Lance Corporal R.K.D.S Deerasinghe of the 5 (V) GR of the 623 Infantry Brigade under command to the 62 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ-Wanni was quick to return a sum of Rs.70,400/= in cash, left behind in the ATM machine of the People's Bank at Horowpothana to the owner on 11 January.

The occasion was attended by Brigadier Janaka Wijesiri, SLAVF Principal Staff Officer, Brigadier Susantha Jayamanne, Brigadier Administration, Major H.M.R.D.K Herath, Commanding Officer of 5 (V) GR, several Senior Officers and Officers.
