A lecture on the Army Benevolent Fund, meant to educate officers and soldiers in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) Headquarters got underway on Tuesday (25) on a suggestion, made by Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Commandant, SLAVF.
The lecture was delivered by Lieutenant Colonel R.M Balasooriya, the Chief Executive Officer of the Army Benevolent Fund. It also aimed at highlighting the importance of thrift among members of the Army.
Major General Thusitha Silva, Deputy Commandant, SLAVF attended the inauguration as the Chief Guest. The occasion was attended by Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Volunteer Force.
