The closing ceremony of the Inter Regiment Taekwondo tournament of the Army took place on Friday (20) at Panagoda Army Sports Complex.
Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) and Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) emerged co-championship in the Inter Regiment Taekwondo tournament.
In the novice sector, Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) players clinched the Championship. Its runners up were Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) players.
In the open and novice sectors, following players did well and were awarded trophies.
Corporal B.A.P.S.W Dayarathne of SLSR (open category) and Corporal A.A.C Madushanka of Special Force (SF) (novices category).
The Inter Regiment Taekwondo tournament’s finals was graced by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Channa Goonatilleke as the Chief Guest and he was welcomed by the Chairman of the Army Taekwondo Committee, Brigadier W.D.C.K Kosta on arrival at the premises.
The winners of the tournament were awarded certificates and trophies.
