Troops of the 1 Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) has begun to run a 10-acre coconut plantation project in consultation with the Nilaveli Seed Farm Nursery and the project was sponsored by the Coconut Cultivation Board with the intention of increasing coconut cultivation.
Brigadier H.A.P.K Hewawasam, Colonel Commandant of the SLAGSC has proposed project considering its importance.
Commanding Officer 1 SLAGSC Lieutenant Colonel C.S Demuni together with all staff inaugurated the coconut cultivation project at 1SLAGSC detachment at Ella, Kantale on Sunday (19).
