The Commander, Security Forces - Central and Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC), Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N D.K.B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc paid his first formal visit to the SLAGSC Trade Training School at Kuttigala on Friday (8 Sept) after his recent assumption of office as the Colonel Commandant, SLAGSC.
The Commandant of Trade Training School, Colonel D.M.T.C Dissanayaka and all staff at the school warmly welcomed the visiting Colonel Commandant after he was saluted in a Guard Turnout. As a part of the visit, the Colonel Commandant was invited to plant a sapling within the school premises, symbolizing his first official visit.
Afterwards, the school Commandant presented a comprehensive briefing on various roles, responsibilities, training programmes, the courses offered at the Trade School and administrative matters before the visiting Colonel Commandant interacted with troops serving there.
Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant inspected the camp compound, welfare facilities of the instructors and the students and two farms belonging to 1 SLAGSC and 2 (V) SLAGSC.
Subsequently, addressing all ranks at the conference hall, the Colonel Commandant emphasized several key factors, including importance of good discipline and the necessity for improving constant training, etc.
To commemorate this special occasion, a few photographs were also taken with the Colonel Commandant.
The Centre Commandant SLAGSC, Colonel M.K.S.S De Silva and a few Senior Officers of the Regimental Centre attended the day’s programme.
