Six More New Houses to Come Up at Veheratenna


Courtesy Dr D.T Gamage, a scholar expatriate, based in Australia, six more resettled villagers in Veheratenna are to receive new houses, following initiatives taken by the Security Forces Headquarters – Wanni (SFHQ-W). 

Laying of foundation stones for the project took place on Monday (21) during a simple ceremony, attended by the sponsor and Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W.

On the same day, Major General Perera opened a new bank account on behalf of the first baby born in the Veheratenna resettled village and handed over the documents to the baby’s parents.

Towards the final segment of the day’s programme, SFHQ-W Commander inaugurated three tube wells, dug for the benefit of resettled people in Veheratenna.  

Ven Imbulgoda Pannaseela Thera, Chief Incumbent of Veheragala Rajamaha Viharaya, Ven Kuda Halmillawa Vanarathna Thera, Chief Incumbent of Cheythiya Giriya temple, Brigadier K.G.D Perera General Officer Commanding (GOC) 62 Division, senior officers and a large gathering of Veherathannna villagers were present during these events.
