A workshop was held on Thursday (25) to discuss issues related to Environment and Ozone Layer at the Security Force Headquarters – Mullattivu (SFHQ-MLT) auditorium on the directions of Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander SFHQ-MLT.
The day’s workshop was organized to discuss the origins of the Ozone Layer and relevant effects. It was conducted by Mr Gunawardane and Mr Manoj Prassanna of the National Ozone Unit, Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment.
Afterwards, Mr Mendis Wickramasinghe, a specialist on Snakes and Reptiles conducted an awareness lecture on identification of toxic and poisons found in snakes and reptiles in Sri Lanka.
In the evening, another lecture on disaster management was conducted by Mr. H.D Gamini Priyantha, Assistant District officer in Disaster management.
Senior officers and Army personnel of the SFHQ-MLT participated in the event.
