An important lecture on ‘Green Agriculture Methods’ was delivered by an expert on the subject at the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry premises on Monday (13) on an initiative taken by Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Commander, Security Forces - West.
Dr Kasun Tharaka, a Gynaecologist at the Kotelawala Defence University who is also an expert in the organic fertilizer production field touched on the subject, tracing historic roots of the process many years ago and how Sri Lankan cultivations received commendation during royal periods and explained the importance and the value of promoting the greenish agriculture process in Sri Lanka.
Senior Officers including Brigadier R.M.J.B. Ratnayake, Senior Project Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters-West, Brigadier T.C.L Ganepola Project Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters - West, Colonel K.M.V Kodithuwakku, Commander, Brigade 144 Brigade and Commanding Officers participated in this educative programme.
