SFHQ-West Stages Exposition of Relics at Army Temple

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) and the Army Buddhist Association, together with members of the ‘Shri Saman Meth Sansadaya’ staged an exposition of omniscient sacred Buddha’s relics and relics of His Diciples’ at Bodhirajaramaya Army temple, Panagoda during 5-6 May on account of the Buudha Poornima, ‘Vesak’ festival.

This was initiated on a request made by the ‘Shri Saman Meth Sansadaya’ from the SFHQ-West and it was organized under the guidance of Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP, Commander, SF-West with the blessings of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu.

During the event, the fragrance chambers at the temple housed the sacred relics and devotees were able to made offerings. Troops also arranged a Bodhi Pooja ceremony with the participation of the Commander, SF-West and Mrs Himali Pussella, the spouse of SF Commander-West.

As dusk fell, Coriander drink Dansela got underway at the same venue on 06 May for visiting devotees. Senior Officers, Officers, representatives of ‘Shri Saman Meth Sansadaya’, Other Ranks and a large crowd of devotees were present during both days.
