A special Dengue prevention programme, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on an initiative of Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West) got underway during 21 – 22 June covering Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts.
More than 180 Army personnel, including Officers, together with Policemen, Public Health Inspectors and respective local authorities in specific areas moved out accordingly to most congested areas in search of Dengue breeding spots and other vulnerable points.
Major General Ralph Nugera, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division and Major General Sudath Perera, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division played a prominent role in this regard.
