The 21 Infantry Division troops-renovated the swimming pool complex inside the 21 Infantry Division HQ in Anuradhapura, open to members of the Security Forces, Policemen, family members and the general public was once again opened for use on Wednesday (16 August).
The renovation works were carried out by 21 Infantry Division troops under the guidance of Major General W.P.A.W.D Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces-Wanni who took the initiative of reviving and renovating the abandoned swimming pool when he was the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division. The swimming pool due to technical issues and the subsequent COVID 19 epidemic remained closed for over four years.
Similarly, a Swimming Training Course for Army personnel is also scheduled to commence on 04 Septmber 2023 with 62 Army members, serving under the Security Force HQ - Wanni.
