12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment troops of the 591 Brigade with the assistance of the Cooperative Economic Association - Mullaittivu, Grama Niladhari (state official), Police and other health officials of the area launched a project to sell vegetables at reasonable price by taking them to their doorsteps for two days, Thursday (9) and Friday (10).
Since the prevailing quarantine curfew hours have restricted movement of the people, this door-to-door mobile mechanism was facilitated at low cost in coordination with local state and Police authorities.
Commander, Security Forces-Mullaittivu, Major General Sisira Pilapitiya and Major General G.D Sooriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division closely supervised the project.
