Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) in collaboration with the former Vice Chairman of the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation, Mr Ajith Kuruppu with the assistance of national level coaches have joined hands to impart knowledge and experiences of school basketball players and military basketball players in Kilinochchi area by inaugurating a Basketball Coaching Camp during July 14 - 16 at 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Basketball court.
On a proposal made by the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), Major General Ajith Kariyakarawna, these coaching sessions were organized at 7 SLLI Headquarters with the intention of rejuvenating sentiments of ethnic harmony and peace.
These coaching sessions were organized to elevate youth basketball players’ abilities to international standards.
The coaching camp concluded in the presence of Brigadier Administration and Quartering of the SFHQ-KLN, Brigadier Kumara Handunmulla. All the participants were presented with proficiency certificates.
Many senior military officers, officials of the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation and sports teachers attended the closing ceremony.
