Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on account of the International Demining Day, conducted a Mine Awareness Programme at Nelum Piyasa auditorium with the cooperation of Sri Lanka Army Demining Team, Halo Trust Organization, Dash Demining Group and Shed Organization, on Saturday (26).
The programme was conducted under two phases with video film and stage drama presentations before Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ - KLN as the Chief Guest.
Under the phase two, more than 500 participants including students, teachers and parents in the area took part in another round of Mine Awareness programme and received education on Manual Demining, Mechanical De-mining, Mine Detectors, Personal Security Equipment, Mine Signs, Unexploded Explosive Ordnance (UXO), Anti Personnel and Anti Tank Mines, Mine cleaning tools and Mine cleaning machines during the programme.
