The Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ- J) marked its 27th Anniversary on Monday (19 June) giving prominence to both religious and military formalities.
On Sunday (18 June) Officers and Other Ranks attended a ‘Bodhi Pooja’ at the shrine inside the SFHQ-J premises where blessings were invoked on the troops serving the peninsula.
The apex of the anniversary event reached on the anniversary day (19 June) where the Commander Security Forces-Jaffna, Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc on his arrival was saluted in a Guard Turnout and a subsequent Guard of Honour formality, presented by the Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops.
Afterwards, in accordance with military traditions, Commander, SF-J, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks sat for an All Rank lunch. The programme culminated with a musical show in the evening.
