SFHQ-J Initiative Gets More Incentives to Jaffna Students

Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), taking one more welfare initiative on behalf of the student community in the peninsula coordinated the distribution of a stock of push bicycles, scholarships and cash gifts after a close survey selected the most needy ones in consultation with teaching staff.

At the request of Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, the donor, Mr. A. Selva offered his patronage by donating 11 push bicycles, two gift vouchers to the value of Rs. 20,000/= and Rs. 15,000/= each and awarding 15 scholarships to 15 needy students each, worth Rs 1,500/= per month. Such scholarship grants would continue for a period of one year under the first phase.

The brief ceremony, held at the SFHQ-J auditorium on Sunday (6) saw the donor, together with Major General Hettiarachchi distribute those incentives to the students. Officers, invitees, teachers, Other Rankers, parents of the students and a gathering of well-wishers attended the distribution ceremony.
