Giving more teeth to the Army's ongoing house construction for the homeless, 11 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops under the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) completed the construction of one more house for a differently able retired War Hero of the 8 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment in Bakkiella, Vellaweli area.
The newly-built house was warmed in a simple ceremony on Tuesday (12) where the Commander Security Forces - East, Major General Channa Weerasuriya as the Chief Guest cut a ribbon and handed over the keys of the new house to the family.
The financial assistance to the project was made available by the Senior Consultant, Trainer - Practical Psychology Mr Chandana Gunawardena in response to a request of the SFHQ-East.
11(V) SLSR troops under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 23 Division, Major General Nalin Koswatta and Commander 231 Brigade, Brigadier Dulipa Bandara provided manpower, technical and engineering expertise for completion of the project.
