SFHQ-E Troops Celebrate 'Poson' Poya Day in Many Formations

Several formations under the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) celebrated ‘Poson’ Poya Day with many programmes.

23 Division organized a ‘Poson’ Zone at the entrance to the 23 Division Headquarters in Punani on Tuesday (02) and Wednesday (03). It was declared open by Major General N.J. Walgama, Commander, SFHQ-E.

This event was coloured with attractive lanterns and pandols. A ‘Poson Bhakthi Gee’ programme was also held in the ‘Poson’ Zone. A rice Dansela was organized to provide meals to all participants who visited the ‘Poson’ Zone.

Meanwhile, troops of 3 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under the 233 Brigade of the 23 Division organized a rice and noodles ‘Dansela’ at Thonithattamadu and a biscuit and ‘Belimal Dansela’ at Kinnerikulam on Tuesday (02).

In the meantime, 6 Battalion Sri Lanka Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) located at Thiriyaya under the 221 Brigade of 22 organized a free offer of Lotus Flowers to the devotees who visited Girihaduseya Viharaya at Thiriyaya on Tuesday (2). Earlier, the troops conducted a Shramadana campaign to clean the temple premises on Monday (1).

Moreover, 22 VIR troops at Kallar under the 222 Brigade of the 22 Division organized a fried rice ‘Dansela’ for the 6th time at the Army Camp premises in Kallar on Tuesday (2).   

23rd Battalion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 242 Brigade of 24 Division organized a rice ‘Dansela’ at Kotawehera Viharaya premises in Pansalgoda and a chick-pea ‘Dansela’ at the 23 SLSR premises, Pothuvil  on Tuesday (2).
