During a strike launched by minor staff at Kurunegala Teaching Hospital on Monday (Jan 09), a group of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard (1 SLNG) troops assisted maintenance of most essential health services at this Hospital in Kurunegala.
Considering difficulties faced by patients Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army on a request made to him instructed the Commander-SF-West to attend to the emergency needs.
Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces - West, and Major General Roshan Jayamanna, General Officer Commading, 14 Infantry Division with the support of Brigadier Faumi Kichilan, Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade, and Major K.A.S.P Kumara, Commanding Officer, 1 SLNG closely supervised the troops.
