An emergency cultivation project of national and timely importance was inaugurated inside the SF Regimental HQ premises in Koholanwala, Naula, Matale on Monday (4) in order to supplement and promote the Army food security programme by cultivating varieties of plants and seeds under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment, Special Forces Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF).
A meeting headed by Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa in addition with all RHQ Officers discussed possibilities of expanding cultivations inside all SF camps by distributing egg seeds and earmarking land plots for the same purpose.
Major General Sujeewa Senerath Yapa assumed office as Colonel of the Regiment of Special Forces on 24th March 2022 and is presently serving as the Commandant, SLAVF.
