SF Regiment HQ in a Rare Gesture of Coincidence Felicitates 4 New SF Major Generals

The Special Forces (SF) Regimental HQ at Naula in a rare gesture of coincidence extended a customary felicitation ceremony to four of its newly -promoted Senior Officers, Major General Wipula Ihalage, Major General Chandimal Peiris, Major General Nissanka Eriyagama and Major General Mahinda Ranasinghe, at the SF Regimental Headquarters on Saturday (03).

The day’s event began with Guard Turnout salutes at the entrance to all four Officers on arrival before colourful and dignified military parades respectively saluted the senior officers who were promoted to the rank of Major Generals.

Afterwards, Major General Wipula Ihalage, Major General Chandimal Peiris, Major General Nissanka Eriyagama and Major General Mahinda Ranasinghe respectively addressed the SF troops and spoke out their visions.

Adding memories, all four Major Generals planted saplings inside the camp premises and the day's proceedings culminated with a lunch hosted at the Officers’ Mess at 1 Regiment Special Forces.

Moreover, the four senior officers had the pleasure of receiving warm wishes from the Colonel of the Regiment Special Forces and Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa on the same day at his office.

Regimental Council members, Senior officers, Officers and Other Ranks of Special Forces took part in the day’s event.
