SF-KLN Woman Soldiers Support Pregnant Women

Woman soldiers of the 6 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC), headquartered in Kilinochchi under the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) during one more of their socio-economic welfare projects, dedicated for the well-being of pregnant women lying in the General hospital Kilinochchi, met 30 of those pregnant women recently and interacted with them in the hope of finding out their pressing needs.

The interactive socializing meeting with those women took place where 6 (V) SLAWC woman Officers donated 30 packets, each to the value of Rs 750/= of essential items to those pregnant women during their visit to the wards.

6 (V) SLAWC troops have been in the process of constantly inquiring into the well-being of women in Kilinochchi. The ongoing project, which has been proved effective, has been devised by the Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi in close contact with respective Grama Niladari officials and hospital authorities intending to offer moral, economic and other supportive assistance to them.

Major Jeewani Rajapaksha, Second in Command, 6 (V) SLAWC and Officers and Other Rankers took part in the visit to the hospital.
