AMPARA: SUPERINTENDENT of Police (SP) Mr. H.L. JAMALDEEN fell victim to unidentified gunmen, suspected to be LTTE infiltrators, Sunday (5) evening around 7.30 p.m. in the general area of MARATHAMUNAI in KALMUNAI, AMPARA.
The Senior Police Officer was returning after evening prayers at the MARATHAMUNAI mosque when he was fired upon causing instant death.
SP JAMALDEEN was holding the senior appointment of Deputy Director at the KALLADY Police Training School in BATTICOLOA at the time he fell victim to suspected LTTE gunmen.
The KALMUNAI Police are conducting investigations.
