Senior Officers Welcome Army Shooters Back Home

Sri Lanka Army shooters during the 12th South Asian Games (SAG) in India secured four Silver medals (Team), ten Bronze medals (Team) and one Bronze medal (individual event), showing their skills.

Brigadier N.D.S.P Niwunhella, Chairman, Army Shooting Committee, together with a few senior officers in the Army Sport Board was at the airport on Thursday (18) to welcome those achievers back home.

Warrant Officer - II S.M.M Samarakoon in the 3x 40 Rifle Shooting (individual event) won a Bronze medal, competing among shooters from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan.     

At team level, the Army shooters won four Silver medals and ten Bronze medals, an achievement for the first time in an overseas event.
