Just a day prior to the culmination of the ' Deyata Kirula-2013' National Exhibition in Ampara, Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence and Urban Development on Friday (29) watched Army exhibits on the site in the company of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya who had arrived there earlier in connection with the cornerstone- laying ceremony for construction of the Digamadulla "Ranaviru Seya", the first to be erected in the East.
Mr Rajapaksa received a warm welcome on entering the exhbition site and went round watching each and every segment, offered by different regiments including the Commandos, a huge crowd-puller. He also made inquiries into various products on display and shared views with those in charge of different stalls before he moved out to visit other stalls, put up by Navy, Air Force and the Police.
Considering the mammoth crowds thronging the mega exhibition, the organizers extended exhibition opening hours until Saturday (30) midnight.
