Secretary Defence Mr Kapila Waidyaratne PC, made a visit to the handicrafts, art and sculpture mega exhibition, organized by the Directorate of Rehabilitation at J.D.A Perera Gallery, Colombo 7 this evening (2), hours before its formal end.
Brigadier Shantha Thirunaukarisu, Director Rehabilitation of the Army received the visiting Secretary Defence on arrival and conducted him to show artifacts and handicrafts that have been on display as a mega exhibition organized by the Directorate of Rehabilitation.
Those differently-able War Heroes of the Army showcased their inborn aesthetic talents in Presentation of those unique and exceptionally created masterpieces, most of them, designed either by visually-impaired, bed-ridden or amputees, lying at different rehabilitation centres island-wide.
It was evident that Secretary Defence was very much impressed with exhibits of differently-able War Heroes on display and shared views with the accompanying Rehabilitation Director of the Army, Brigadier Shantha Thirunaukarisu and those who were in charge of those creative products. He later on, made inquiries into various aspects of the exhibits and their outstanding capabilities. The exhibition ended this evening (2).
