66 new recruits in the Basic Agriculture Course No 6 of the Army School of Agriculture and Livestock (SAL) in Kilinochchi successfully completed it and received certificates during a simple ceremony on Monday (05).
Lieutenant Colonel A.S.B Hapuwinna, Commanding Officer, 6 Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL) as the Chief Guest gave away those certificates.
The course was conducted for a period of one month focused on organic farming, crop cultivation, food preservation, machinery, animal husbandry and value-added animal feed products and other related areas.
Simultaneously, the recruits received their regimental badges along with certificates from the Commanding Officer of the 6 SLACAL and Lieutenant Colonel D.L.C.N Muthuthanthrige, Commandant, SAL.
The following recruits received commendation for their merits;
1st in Order of Merit - Recruit B. M. C G Kumarasinghe
2nd in Order of Merit - Recruit W. J. K Senarath
3rd in Order of Merit - Recruit B. L Wijayarathna
