Rugby Players Educated on ‘Crossfit' Training Method

Directorate of Sports of the Army with the aim of improving knowledge and stamina of the players introduced the popular training method, 'Crossfit' for 215 rugby players of different Regimental teams on 28 June at Panagoda Army Indoor Stadium.

The renowned Sri Lankan 'Crossfit' Trainer, Mr Mothilal Jayathilaka delivered a lecture and highlighted the importance of the knowledge on 'Crossfit' for further development of the sport. The high-intensity, functional movements involved in Crossfit can provide benefits such as increased strength, endurance, power, and agility, which are all essential for rugby players. 'Crossfit' has become a popular training method for athletes in various sports, including rugby.

Brigadier R.M.M.A Peiris RSP USP psc, Director Sports gave necessary instructions for conduct of the training session.
