Rugby Championship Goes to 5 (v) SLLI Team

The final Rugby tussle between the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) team and the 5 (v) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment team, took place at Diyatalawa Polo playground on Sunday (7), amid a large gathering of sports lovers.

The Rugby tournament, organized on the directions of Major General Mano Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C, was competed by 13 Rugby teams of all Divisions, Brigades and Battalions of the SFHQ-C after the tournament began on Saturday (6).

The conduct of this tournament has been organized to be parallel with the Commander’s notion of having such sports tournaments organized at all SFHQ levels with the intention of promoting sports skills among Army personnel.

Championship trophy and other trophies were distributed by the Chief Guest, Major General Mano Perera at the end of the finals on Sunday (7).
