The outgoing Commander Security Forces-Wanni Major General Hemantha Bandara relinquished the appointment on 02nd October 2021 on the eve of his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army.
Major General Hemantha Bandara was the 22nd Commander of Security Forces-Wanni. Major General Champaka Ranasignhe succeeds as the new Commander for Security Forces-Wanni
At the Security Force Headquarters -Wannin premises, a simple ceremony was held due to pandemic situation, in which a Guard Turnout and a separate Guard of Honour saluted him at the parade.
All General Officers Commanding, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North Central), Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and staff officers at the SFHQ -Wanni participated in this event where he addressed the troops and thanked everyone.
