Provost Officers & Other Ranks Learn More about Crime Science

The Directorate of Provost organized a three-day workshop on ‘Crime Science’ at the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Regimental Headquarters at Narahenpita during 15-17 November.

SLCMP troops were largely educated on technicalities and technology on detection of ‘Finger Prints’, ‘Protection of Evidence’, Criminology and other general features, related to Crime Science, etc during this three-day long workshop. Officials at the Criminal Records Division and Sensemaking at the Crime Detective Training Complex at Kalutara Police School provided their expertise and lecture assistance during the project.

As per guidelines given by the SLCMP Colonel Commandant, Major General Anil Ilangakoon, 13 Provost Officers and 102 Other Ranks participated in the workshop.

Brigadier Lakshman Bamunusinghe, Provost Marshal, Directorate of Provost, together with Colonel Sujeewa Munasinghe, Colonel Provost coordinated the workshop and closely supervised its proceedings. They also joined the inaugural ceremony on the first day (15).
