The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva on the first working day of the New Year-2021 added further significance to advancement in ranks of five more Senior Brigadiers of the Army and pinned new Major General insignia at the Commander's office in the Army Headquarters.
HE the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the recommendation of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army has promoted these five Senior Brigadiers to the rank of Major General.
Accordingly, promoted Major General Manoj Lamahewa of Sri Lanka Artillery, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division, Major General Ajith Dissanayake of Sri Lanka Artillery, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ-Kilinochchi, Major General Dammi Hewage of Gajaba Regiment, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ-West, Major General Manjula Karunarathna of Sri Lanka Artillery, Director Psychological Operations - AHQ and Major General Lal Chandrasiri of Gemunu Watch, Overall Security Coordinator at the Army HQ received their insignia from General Shavendra Silva.
