Troops of the 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment serving the 222 Brigade of the 22 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) considering the needful of the law income families in the area coordinated the distribution of essentials and relief packs among 13 needy pregnant women of Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim ethnicity in Serunuwara, thanks to the generosity, extended by Ven Dikkapitiye Senananda Thero, Chief Incumbent of Sri Punyardhanaramaya Monastery at Dompe, Ganegoda and Sri Sarananda Monastery, Gampaha on Saturday (13).
The monk has been generously supported by past pupils (95 Batch) of Mahanama Central College.
According to instructions given by Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander, Security Forces - East, the programme was organized jointly by 222 Brigade and 22 VIR troops under the guidance of Major General Samantha Silva, General Officer Commanding of the 22 Division.
