Post-New Year Cluster Stands at 154,188 - NOCPCO

As of this morning (02), a total of 1,883 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 68 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 1,815 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 342 from Gampaha District, 247 from Kalutara District, 220 from Colombo District and 1006 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (02), a total of 260,971 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 154,188 were reported after the New Year.

By Friday (2) morning (past 24 hours), 1,888 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. On 30 June, 43 deaths have been reported including 16 males and 27 females.

By Friday (2) morning, 1341 persons have left 42 QCs after completion of their quarantining process. As of this morning (2), 7,394 persons in 74 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

The latest GN Divisions that came under isolation this morning (2) include Matuwagala Watta upper parts in Kiriella Police Division in Ratnapura District, Rubberwatte and Olanda Village in Handala (North) GN Divisions in Wattala Police Division in Gampaha District, Obyesekara 514 C in Obeysekara GN Division in Nugegoda Police Division in Coombo District and Kotiyagalawatta down in Bogawantalawa Police Division in Nuwara Eliya District.

By this morning (2), several Grama Niladhari (GN) Divisions and Police Division areas were completely released from isolation, including Ayojana Mandala Road, Lake View Road and Polhena Road in Yatihena GN Division in Biyagama Police Division and Devala Road, Ariyadasa Vithanage avenue and its remotest section along Ariyadasa Vithanage avenue and Siymbalape Watta Kadunboda Road in Siymbalapewatta GN Division in Gampaha District and Demadaoya E 417/A in Mahawela Police Division in Matele District.
