A spectacle of devotional songs, staged by members of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) at its Modera Rock House Headquarters was opened Wednesday (4) evening by Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army at the invitation of Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Colonel Commandant, SLAC and Commander, Security Forces – West.
The display of those aesthetic talents, ‘Bethi Gee’ took place as a tribute to the Poson phenomenon which heralded a new culture and civilization for Sri Lankans many centuries ago.
Each SLAC Battalion presented three songs of Poson significance to the arrangement.
Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army on arrival was received by Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Colonel Commandant, SLAC.
Towards the end of the arrangement, Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Colonel Commandant, SLAC presented a memento to the Commander of the Army for his gracious presence.
