WANNI & EAST: TROOPS continued search and clear operations in the general areas of PUTHUKUDIYIRUPPU, AMPAKAMAM, KALAMANKULAM and PIRIPPU on Tuesday (11) and recovered ten T-56 weapons, one 81 mm mortar trap, one thousand one hundred and eleven rounds of T-56 ammunition, thirteen hand grenades, one pencil shooting weapon, one hundred and ten .22 rounds, seven mobile phones, six batteries, two antennas, one receiver, six T-56 ammunition boxes, four Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), twenty-nine National Identity Cards (NID), two LTTE Identity Cards, one code sheet file, twenty T-56 magazines, two hundred and seventy-five General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) rounds, five hundred of .30 ammunition, eighteen 60 mm mortar bombs, eight 81 mm mortar bombs, five pistols, five pistol magazines, three I-com sets, three chargers, nine hundred and seventy-six Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) ammunition, one cap, sixteen 60 mm mortar chargers, four MPMG links and four Outboard Motors (OBM).
Meanwhile, troops recovered four hand grenades, 2kg of explosives, one T-56 weapon, four shotguns and four shotgun cartridges from PERARU in TRINCOMALEE and KAHAWATHTHAMUNEI, ALANCHIPATANA, ILUPPUWEDEI in BATTICALOA the same day (11).
Another search operation conducted by Special Task Force (STF) troops recovered one hundred and thirteen 120 mm mortar bombs form TARAVIKULAM in BATTICALOA on Tuesday (11).
