Students at Periyamadu Vidyalaya in Mannar District were gifted with writing books and other school accessories during a brief ceremony recently, held at the school premises.
The school with 100s of children from low income families received those gifts following coordination done by 61 Division serving Periyamadu area in the Madu Divisional Secretariat.
The project, aimed at improving educational standards among those children was coordinated by the 61 Division Civil Affairs Coordination officer with the support of other senior officers in the 61 Division.
The principal, teachers, parents and senior 61 Division officers attended the occasion.
