Past Girls at Musaeus College with Army Build One More House

A new house, built by Army troops for a family with handicapped children who were living without a permanent shelter in the general area of Hinukgala, Dewahoowa, was vested in the deserving family on Monday (11) during a simple house-warming ceremony.

Within a matter of 4 months, troops of the 10 Gajaba Regiments, 2 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 1 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps and 17 Corps of Engineer Services (CES) under command to the 111 Brigade of the 11 Division of the Security Force HQ - Central, erected this new house with financial sponsorship of Rs 3 lakhs, provided by the 1980 Group of the Colombo Musaeus College.

The house, constructed on the instructions of Brigadier Rohitha Ratnayake, Commander, 111 Brigade under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 11 Division and the Commander, SF-Central was accordingly vested in Mrs W.M Madusha Prasadi Dharmapala, a widow with handicapped children living in the Akkara-20, Hinukgala, Dewahoowa.

On the inaugural day, 111 Brigade Commander, together with the Civil Affairs Officer and the representative donors gifted a large pack of dry rations to the family. Several invitees including Grama Niladari for Hinukgala, Dewahoowa and relatives of the beneficiary were present during the inauguration.
