Panagoda Army Service Centre Opened


Enabling all Army vehicles operating in Colombo and suburbs to receive servicing, the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) workshop at Panagoda, opened its new Service Center a few days ago in line with the Commander’s directions for establishment of such centers at major island-wide formations.

Panagoda new service center, set up by the Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (DEME) at Army Headquarters in this way helps the Army to considerably cut down the cost, spent for servicing at outside private service centers.

Major General S.R Manawaduge, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters-West (SFHQ-W) upon the invitation, extended by Brigadier T.N Jayasuriya, Director, DEME cut a ribbon and opened the new service center at Panagoda Wednesday (16).


Meanwhile, Major General Manawaduge recently conducted formal inspection tours to the 11 Division Headquarters and the 12 Division Headquarters.


During his visit to the 11 Division, Major General Manawaduge opened 1 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps (SLRC) – built new holiday bungalow in the premises before he addressed the troops serving there.
