An initiative of the 65 Division of the Security Force HQ - Wanni (SFHQ-W) with sponsorship received from philanthropists through Army coordination enabled the troops to distribute 500 book packs among needy students at Palinagar Vidyalayam in Vavuniya on Wednesday (20).
Considering economic hardships and social constraints, Mr Suren de Silva from Battaramulla and Dr. C.S Sivakumar and Mr. R.P.G.W Wickramasinghe at the invitation of the troops volunteered to sponsor the purchase of those school books and accessories required for those needy 500 students.
Several Senior Officers as per directions of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General Anil Samarasiri joined the distribution ceremony.
Troops of the 10 SLLI of the 652 Brigade under the supervision of Brigadier Sanjeewa Wanasekara, Commander, 652 Brigade actively organized the distribution programme at the Palinagar Vidyalaya.
