The Defence Attaché of the High Commission of Pakistan in Colombo, Colonel Mohammed Safdar Khan made a visit to the Army War College (AWC) at Buttala with a view to receiving an update on its curriculum on Tuesday (25).
Brigadier Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commandant, Army War College, warmly welcomed the visiting Defence Attaché at the AWC premises on arrival.
During the cordial meeting, they exchanged thoughts about training modules of middle-grade officers of both the Armies of Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Further, they shared views on further enhancement of the military education and career development prospects of military personnel.
The envoy assured the Commandant of his fullest support for the AWC training programmes in consultation with his superiors in Pakistan in the future.
During his stay at the AWC, the Defence Attaché visited the Defence Studies Branch and had a discussion with the Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors and other Senior Officers and shared a few thoughts and views on training proceedings and disciplines of military studies.
At the end of the day, the Commandant presented a memento to the visiting Defence Attaché to mark his visit to the AWC. Before leaving, he signed the Visitors’ Book and left his comments and wishes.
