Over Six Thousand T-56 Ammo Found

WANNI & EAST: TROOPS in PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU, NAWATIKULAM and KOKAVIL areas on Friday (31) recovered one anti tank mine, two hundred and eighty-five 120 mm mortar bombs,  nineteen anti personnel mines, forty-three hand grenades, six thousand six hundred and ninety rounds of T-56 ammunition, eight T-56 magazines, twelve 60 mm para bombs, two M-4 bombs, twenty-three Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), five RPG chargers, one box of 12.7 mm ammunition, one claymore mine, one 12.7 mm ammunition link, two gas masks, four Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) links, eight paddle gun ammunition belts, two radar parts, three Out Board Motors (OBM), sixteen rounds of 37 mm ammunition, four thousand and seventy-four rounds of MPMG ammunition, one MPMG barrel, one MPMG body part, one hundred and ten rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, three 81 mm mortar bombs, one mini UZI weapon with one magazine, thirty rounds of 9 mm pistol ammunition, two .22 weapons, one .22 magazine, four M-16 magazines, one M-16 barrel, one hundred and fifteen rounds of M-16 ammunition, one 60 mm mortar base plate and one T-56 gas tube abandoned by LTTE terrorists.

The same day, Special Task Force (STF) troops in THARAVIKULAM, THOPPIGALA area recovered two hundred and twenty-seven 82 mm mortar bombs and one hundred and twenty-one RPG bombs.
