Students and Teachers of Polonnaruwa/Dimbulagala Kashshapa Vidyalaya, thanks to an initiative of the Security Force HQ - East, were the recipients of a lunch treat on Monday (03) with sponsorship extended by the Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation of Ven Thalagala Sri Sumanaratana Nayake Thero at Thalagala, Horana. The events coincided with the Army Anniversary and the Children's Day.
Under the guidelines and supervision of the Commander, Security Forces - East, 09 Battalion Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment, troops organized this Special Lunch at the above school premises. 550 Students and 32 teachers with staff took part in the lunch treat and expressed their thanks to the Army.
Meanwhile, 12 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard troops organized a Special Lunch at the Batticaloa/Weeranager Vidyalaya premises at Uththuchchinai on Monday (03) on account of the Children's Day.
160 Students and 15 Teachers with staff, enjoyed the lunch, sponsored by Ven Ketakumbure Dharmarama Thera, Principal Nalanda Buddhist School at Pallekele, Furthermore, Major General Priyantha Jayawardene, Commander, SF-(E ) attended both distribution ceremonies as the Chief Guest with the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Commander, 232 Infantry Brigade, Chief Civil Coordinating Officer SF-(E), Civil Coordinating Officer SF-(E), Commanding Officer,12 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, Several Officers, Other ranks.
Representatives of the donor monk, Ven Ketakumbure Dharmarama Thera, Principal Nalanda Buddhist School at Pallekele also took part in the distribution ceremony.
