Troops of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) bade farewell to the outgoing SLAVF Commandant, Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc amid military honours on Wednesday (16 Aug) at the SLAVF HQ, Kosgama.
The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by Principal Staff Officer, Coordinating Officer - Sri Lanka Rifle Corps and Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps and the Commanding Officer of Headquarters Battalion of the Volunteer Force after he was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance.
Afterwards, Major General M.T.K.R Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the SLAVF received the outgoing Commandant and ushered him to the saluting dais to receive the Guard of Honour salutes awarded by the troops of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps.
After a while, the outgoing Commandant addressed the troops and expressed his sincere gratitude for the cooperation extended by everyone.
Towards, the end, Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc presented appreciation certificates to the troops who were engaged in the recent construction projects. Furthermore, special mementoes were presented to the outgoing Commandant during the event.
The series of events culminated with the departure of the outgoing Commandant amidst good-bye cheers of the Officers and Other Ranks who street lined on both sides of the road leading to the Main Gate.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SLAVF also took part in the itinerary.
