The outgoing Major General Sanath Aluvihare, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 22 Division on Wednesday (28) during a formal farewell ceremony, held at the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) premises was saluted in accordance with military traditions.
A Guard Turnout at the entrance on his arrival at the SFHQ-E, saluted him before he was invited to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour, presented at the SFHQ-E parade square. He was also invited to pose for a group photo at the SFHQ-E compound as a symbol of memory.
A farewell lunch hosted on the following day at the SFHQ-E honoured the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 22 Division and awarded him a souvenir on behalf of all ranks at the 22 Division.
Commander, Security Forces - East, 23 and 24 Division General Officers Commanding, Brigadier General Staff Security Force - East, all Brigade Commanders, Senior Staff Officers and Commanding Officers, Officers were present during the farewell lunch.
