Outgoing Chief of Staff Pays Courtesies to SLMA

The outgoing Chief of Staff, Major General Priyantha Perera, just a few days, prior to his retirement paid a courtesy call to the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) at Diyatalawa where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant some 34 years ago after training as an Officer Cadet and recalled cherished memories on Friday (3).

After a warm welcome, extended by the SLMA Commandant, Brigadier Nalinda Niyangoda along with several senior officers of the SLMA, he proceeded to the SLMA's 'Monument of Peace' in the compound and saluted the memories of fallen War Heroes placing a floral wreath.

Afterwards, he visited the Cadets’ Mess and the Ella Museum where his Intake photograph remained hung before he had a field visit to glance at ongoing constructions inside the premises. Before his exit, the SLMA Commandant presented a memento to him and invited him to pen a few of his thoughts in the Visitors' book.
