Outgoing Australian Defence Advisor Pays Courtesies to Army Chief

The outgoing Defence Advisor at the Australian High Commission in Colombo, Captain Ian Cain today (14 Dec) extended his courtesies to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters before his return to Australia after completion of his tenure in Sri Lanka.

Colonel Amanda Johnston CSC, the incoming Defence Advisor at the Australian High Commission in Colombo also took part in the cordial interactions. During the brief meeting, both parties exchanged views on matters of general interest and ever-growing bilateral relations between both military organizations.

Captain Ian Cain also expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lanka Army for all the support he received during his tenure and wished the Sri Lanka Army all the best in its future endeavours.

Towards the end of interactions, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army, appreciative of his relations and goodwill during the outgoing Defence Advisor’s service, presented a memento to Captain Ian Cain as a token of appreciation. The gesture was reciprocated.

In addition, the Army Chief presented another token of appreciation to Colonel Amanda Johnston CSC, the incoming Defence Advisor at the Australian High Commission in Colombo, symbolic of prevailing sound relations and goodwill.
